Fotowand & Bilderrahmen

Nachdem es ja schon in den meisten Inneneinreichtungsseiten als Trend gehypt und in verschiedensten Ausführungen präsentiert wurde, werde ich mich in nächster Zeit wohl auch an einer Fotowand mit Bilderrahmen verschiedenster Größe und Farbe  versuchen. Vorallem Konzertticket und Erinnerungen an das letzte Jahr mit Hurts sollen endlich einen unstaubigen Platz bekommen. Moment bin ich allerdings noch auf der Suche nach antiken Rahmen.

Vanilla Cupcakes with Pink Cream Cheese Frosting

A cancelled lecture gave me the unexpected chance to bake some cupcakes and use my new pink sprinkles. So it´s been definitely time for my first attempt at making cream chesse frosting.

The recipe decision has been made by google as I´ve just typed in "Vanilla Cupcakes" and I just followed the first recipe from http://www.joyofbaking.com/VanillaCupcakes.html 

Vanilla Cupcakes:

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter room temperature

2/3 cup (130 grams) granulated white sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Zest of 1 large lemon (outer yellow skin)

1 1/2 cups (195 grams) all purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup (60 ml) milk

Confectioners (Buttercream)Frosting:

2 cups (230 grams) confectioners sugar (icing or powdered sugar), sifted

1/2 cup (113 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

2 tablespoons milk or light cream

 The sponge turned out to be fluffy and tasty though I had to replace 2/3 of the flour with whole grain flour. Unfortunately the icing recipe was I bit too runny  for piping so I added about 100g more icing sugar.

Tom Ford in München

Die Maximilian Straße wird um eine Attraktion reicher: Tom Ford wird am 28.11.2011 seinen ersten Deutschland-Store in der Falckenberg Straße eröffnen. Auf 1400 Quadratmetern und zwei Stockwerken wird  die gesamte Damenkollektion und auch Accessoires, Schuhe und Beauty Produkte angeboten werden.
Das zweite Stockwerk wird dabei zum Brillen und Handtaschenparadies. 


Beim Einzug wurde ein auf ein modernes lichtdurchflutendes Design gesetzt, das zudem auch mit angerenzenden historischen Bauten Münchens harmonieren soll. 

Tom Ford, commented:

 “I couldn’t be happier to be opening our women’s store in Munich. I have known Marion for years and couldn’t ask for a better partner for our first TOM FORD store in Germany. Our goal with this store is to address an extremely discerning luxury customer who demands the highest quality product and service.”

Nur noch schnell ein Winteroutfit das ich letzte Woche um Abendessen mit Freunden getragen habe.

Nivea Test - Long Repair

Letzte Woche habe ich von der lieben Marie von  perragazza.de ein tolles Testpaket von Nivea bekommen, nachdem sie selbst keine Zeit zum testen hatte. Wie gut, dass ich mich in dieser Woche von meiner leeren Flasche John Frida Sheer Blonde getrennt habe.

Mein Päckchen war gefüllt mit dem LONG REPAIR Shampoo, Spülung und Haarschaum. Dazu gab es als Goodie noch einen Tester von J´Adore Dior und ein Lipbalm von Avon Cosmetics.

Laut Aufdruck sind die Produkte für längeres, beanspruchtes Haar gedacht- mit meinen langen und leider oftmals splissigen Haaren bin ich mit Sicherheit in der Zielgruppe aber wir werden sehen.
Die nächsten zwei Wochen werde ich die Produkte ausführlich testen und meinen Bericht dann an Marie weiterleiten.

These days

When you feel completely grounded , happy and nothing could ruin the day? I was lucky to experience a Monday ( we all hate Monday´s dont we? ) like this and I´m confident that the upcoming Mondays will exactly like this! Monday is my new day off and my final chance to get stuff done after spending the weekend enjoying my home and redecorating my room.
After a lie in and some housewifey-chores I met my family for the best and for sure largest Pizza in Munich. For sure I´m talking about l´Osteria at the old Lenbach´s. Compared to a normal glass you might get to guess the actual size of this pizza.

Besides missing Manchester I at last found time for some baking: Victoria Sponge Cupcakes with lemon- curry frosting. For the first time I've managed to whisk icing sugar and butter in the right amount to pipe absolutely perfect icing! Stiff enough to not melt after 5 minutes. Achievements!
I'll have a mug of mulled wine on that. Cheers!

No place like home

I think my favourite moment of the day was getting off the underground at Odeonsplatz and walking up to Theatinerstrasse & Feldherrenhalle in the crisp cold sunshine.
Every single time I feel blessed to live in this city, there are so many things I've just come to miss after spending time abroad. Sometimes you have to leave your every- day territory to really appreciate what's around you.
I've missed hanging out with friends, chatting about football and having coffee at Tambosi followed by long walks through the Englischer Garten.

Now I'm back in Muc I've made the decision to continue writing my blog. Just as an outlet of my thoughts inspirations and things I like.

One of my fav pieces is the snake print blouse from Primark. Worn with black skinny jeans heels and gold/ silver necklaces. Perfect for a late night Hotel Gin & Tonic.

World's best Eggs Benedict are sold in Manchester's hip Northern Quarter at Teacup Thomas St.
The Macarons are sold at The English Rose Bakery in Selfridges' food hall.
