Food & Orange

It's all busy again here and my days are spent organising my exam schedule and shifting classes from Monday to Fridays and back again. But all in all I'm looking forward to a new semester as I can finally see an end to these dreadful studies.
Im massively in love with the gold collar of my Primark blouse and wore it to a farewell dinner of a dear friend.

The last day

A very casual look for the show on friday! A massive thanks to Sinead for organising the bloggers and of course my fellow blogger girls, it´s been so nice to meet you all!

Say "JA!" to celebrity fashion!

It´s still beyond me how this week could pass by so quickly with all the fun I had. So it was Friday which not only  meant the last day but also the day of celebrity fashion with the shows by Caprice, Bjorn Borg and Calum Best. Doing my research on the brands it clearly meant a lot of skin and gorgeous creations for bedrooms and beaches.
Caprice showcased here lingerie collection that was dominated by very feminine lacy pieces that were almost too pretty to only wear them indoors. As summer is inevitably looming the heart of the collection for me was the swimwear: Super cute and yet classy bikinis and sexy cut out one-pieces for curves in all the right places.

Bjorn Borg contrasted the first show with clearly sport inspired underwear and swimwear for girls and boys. Bright, colourful and with a funny twist: Whoever created the pixel pattern for the guys underpants was a true genius and got the whole catwalk including the models laughing. Why would you want to see a fashion show? For moments like this!

Jamie's Italian Manchester Review

After our first visit at Jamie's in London to celebrate my exams we decided to come back and try the newly opened Manchester restaurant.
The venue, an old bank complex in Manchester's posh King St.is absolutely stunning and offer seating on two different levels. Whilst waiting for a table we shared one of the starters that are also available at the bar.
Being seated after 20 min we ordered another two starters ( Pear and Walnut Gorgonzola Salad | Chickpea Flatbread with Roasted Peppers ), two sides ( Chips with Truffles and Parmesan) and two small mains ( Wild Rabbit Tagliolini | Meatball Carbonara).
Again the quality of the food was superb and fresh. Although the menu is the same as the London one you could see that the ingredients were differently sourced which is a definite plus! Exactly the same smell and taste would be a sign of cheap processed fast food which is not the case in the Jamie Oliver signature restaurant chain!
Even traditional dishes like Carbonara or pasta in general convey the unique seasoning technique of Jamie to make them standing out from any other Italian restaurant.

Studded Ballerina DIY

I'm probably the last person to ask when it comes to DIY stuff but this has been too easy to not share it with you.

1. All you need is plain Ballerinas and some studs. I got my Ballerinas from Primark for 4£ and the studs from Affleck's Palace for 4£ in total (100 studs in two sizes). It doesn't matter what shoes and studs you use as long as the material of the shoes is thin enough to pinch through.

2. Chose the pattern of your liking and put the studs on, easy peasy except your thumbs are very likely to hurt afterwards.

Here are my results

The Brands Next Door

Thursday's shows were entirely hosted by The Avenue shops that form the core of the Spinningfields quarter and offer all the big brands to London spoilt shoppers such as Kurt Geiger, Flannels, Ted Baker, Brooks Brothers, All Saints and Mulberry. The variety of brands lead to a big buzz in the Fashion Week Venue and attracted the city's most fashionable ladies!
I've taken far too many pictures again so I'll only shows my favourites, especially from the Flannels show with their gorgeous big print Temperley London gowns. It's been definitely a tease to go spend a lot of money in The Avenue and thank god the shops were closed after the last show!

House of Herlihy

The House of Herlihy show started with a little sneak behind the big white curtains again for me to see the models getting their gorgeous hair up-do's and smokey eyes.
The styling clearly contrasted and highlighted the silky silhouette hugging dresses. If you are looking for a shift dress for almost any occasion House of Herlihy is the right place for you: Timelessly classy but yet up-to-date with amazing prints of famous buildings like the Taj Mahal that were almost fading in to pure soft colour in her designs. Suddenly the outline of a church can create the most beautiful neck line for a dress and there is no need for further accessories to highlight the look. If you wish to make a more red-carpet-like appearance pick one of the bright floor length chiffon dresses with stunning leg cut-outs that would effortlessly put Angelina Jolie's right leg to shame.
